Some of the great things about San Diego are the sun, surf, and plethora of activities to keep you busy. In August, you may have seen Travis on the cover of the West Coaster taking advantage of the sun and surf – well, sort of. He was captured soaring over Mission Bay in a jetpack. Yes, you read that correctly, a jetpack. He had the great opportunity to test out one of Jetpack America’s water-propelled Jetlev jetpacks.
When asked to recall his experience this is what he tells people:
“When told about the opportunity about flying a jet pack, I had no idea what “jetpack” actually meant, but I heard the word jetpack and my initial response was, “fuck yes!”
The experience itself was not quite what I expected (though it was still a great time) as I had no control over the throttle (done this way for first timers as they learn) which was very frustrating at times. However, if I were to do it again in the future I would be able to control the throttle. I can see that with more experience this would be extremely fun and addicting.”
