We value the integrity and quality of our beer, and we appreciate the fact that you do, too. So, if you’re looking to get a growler filled, here is our policy outlining the specific growler containers that we can fill with our beer at the Tasting Room. We will fill the following for customers who are 21 years of age and over:
- Any clean Societe-branded growler
- Any clean, blank 1-liter or 2-liter, swing-top growlers made of stainless steel
- Any clean, blank 2-liter growlers made of brown-glass
- Any clean, blank 1-liter or 2-liter, wide-mouth, swing-top growlers made of ceramic material
Samples of the specific growler types that we will fill are displayed in our Tasting Room, and you can always ask one of our beer-servers whether or not we will fill a specific growler. Please note that we will not fill any growler that:
- Has a screw-top or a threaded lid, including screw-top Hydroflask growlers
- Is made of clear, green or blue glass
- Is dirty or badly maintained
- Has another brewery’s or beer’s logo or information printed on it
- Has been obscured or defaced with stickers, duct tape or any other material
***UPDATE: In the Barrel is SOLD OUT!***
We are very excited to announce our first in-house beer dinner – In the Barrel.
Join the members of Societe for an exclusive first taste of Societe Brewing Company’s line of barrel-aged beers. The event will feature three unique beers drawn from our barrels, and will also include beers from our standard lineup. Each beer will be artfully paired with delectable fare from Alchemy during Societe’s first in-house beer dinner. This is the only opportunity to sample the first offering of beers from the barrel room.
Some of the great things about San Diego are the sun, surf, and plethora of activities to keep you busy. In August, you may have seen Travis on the cover of the West Coaster taking advantage of the sun and surf – well, sort of. He was captured soaring over Mission Bay in a jetpack. Yes, you read that correctly, a jetpack. He had the great opportunity to test out one of Jetpack America’s water-propelled Jetlev jetpacks.
With the holidays upon us, we will have slightly different hours so as to allow our staff to be with their loved ones. Please note the changes below:
Monday, December 24th = Closed
Tuesday, December 25th = Closed
Monday, December 31st = 11am-4pm
From all of us here at Societe Brewing Company, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a very happy new year!

We would like to announce the most recent addition to our team. Our Sales Manager, Mark Schell.
We’d like to introduce you to an employee that’s been with us from the beginning, Lorah Smith. She is our Event Coordinator and part of our public relations and social media team. She also fills many other miscellaneous roles for the brewery.
Some of you may have noticed that we recently posted a job opening for an entry-level brewery position on TapHunter’s CraftBeerCareers.com. As of yesterday, we hired our newest employee, Tyler Tucker!
Tyler’s love for beer began like many with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. He became hooked on craft beer and constantly sought out many styles and varieties from breweries near and far. After some time, Tyler moved to San Diego where his love for beer was fueled by the many excellent breweries this city is gifted with.
